I believe that book is part of a bigger book.

Here are a couple of reviews:
Editorial Reviews
Gerald Eskenazi, New York Times
If you want to understand the mind of America, watch baseball said
deTocqueville. But if you want to understand the passion of being a New York
hockey fanyes, were talking Rovers, Rangers and Ducks and Devils and
Islanders and those other bladed heroes of megalopolisthen you had better
read Fischler. Specifically, Fischler in Metro Ice. With this magnum
opusindeed, the first of its kind to celebrate the institution of hockey
hereaboutsFischler turns his all-seeing eye, his stereophonic ear, and his
good-natured sense of humor to this fastest sport. Sure, Ive heard the
stories beforethe skating bear, the clever Cat, the slithery Eel. But Ill bet
most readers havent. And those evocative black-and-white photos, complemented
by wonderful old program covers (15 cents)just perfect. Be there as they tear
doen the old Garden, put up the new one, visit Cherry Hill arena, play in the
suburbs. As Boom Boom Geoffrion said (or should have): Fischler, truly you
are the hockey maven. Rich Chere, The Newark Star -Ledger
No one knows more about the history of hockey in the metropolitan area than
Stan Fischler. His stories always bring to life the game I treasure. Even if
you didnt live it, Metro Ice makes you feel like you had a seat behind the
net for the past century.
