Those are tremendous points, Pete.
It of course immediately disturbed me for Bobby to say all this. It can't be
new to him, being on the team as long as he has, to have faced what he did.
And getting $3.5 mill to play hockey sounds pretty good to all of us.
But what is starting to trouble me, is that the players coming up on the same
journey aren't as interchangeable to me as they once have been. I like THIS
team. I love the way it's been constructed and put together, but these
personalities mean a lot to me.
Maybe it's the leaps and bounds the Internet has given us or what not, but I
feel closer to the team some how. It's having all of you to talk about it
with when it's deep into the offseason and my friends and family show off
that "if you mention the D word again" look.
This is my team! And I'm going to miss these guys when they're gone. More
than I have before.
Does that make sense? Well, I hope it does, or at least that you all know my
intention to do so.
