It is ALWAYS about the money. And how much is enough for these guys. YOu use Arod as an example, well he could have got 200 million from someone else but he chose to get the extra 50 million and now he is suffering in Texas...good. We aren't talking about 200,000 we are talking about MILLIONS of dollars. Anyone who makes that kind of money is set for life if they invest wisely.

I respect Holik and he is a valuable asset to the team...he will be missed but I lost respect for him with his ramblings in the papers or should I say crying in the papers....he should have just kept quiet and played out the season and left. Funny the grass is always greener of the other side. How many ex-Devils have really been great for their next team after leaving via UFA. I can't really think of any.

With all that being said, it is sad but I have this bad feeling that this is just the first of many exits by the current Devil players. I don't think Stevens will be here. I will draw the line on Broduer. If Lou lets him go, I am finished purchasing season tickets and will become a casual fan. I hope Lou trades Holik before camp as we can get something good for him whereas we get nothing when he walks next year.

It's not about the money, it's about respect. You cannot keep guys that make 
4.5 million a year from making 7 or 8 when they can go get it easily. I hate 
how everyday people bitch and moan, but you know what? If we were in his 
position we would do the exact same shit. Just like ALex Rodriguez did, 
people boo him for taking the money. I would really love to see one of us 
keep a $50,000 a year job, when you can go make $200,000 for doing the same 
thing. But since these guys make millions you guys come down hard on them. 
That doesn't make sense to me. Holik deserves what he asked for. I also don't 
understand why every other teams' fans understand and give Holik respect he 
deserves, but 90% of Devils Fans have no respect for the one of the hardest 
workers on our team, and a guy who has been here forever. And Lou compared 
him to Travis fucking Green??????????? Might as well compare Holik to Brendan 
Morrison.
