Obviously I agree, but this foreshadows what will happen to this team if Lou
keeps upsetting players through arbitration, his salaries, and his strategy.
He did it for Madden and Rafalski last season when they could have become
unrestrictred. I don't understand why he didn't lock up Holik with a big
term/money deal, and sign Marty and Stevens to extensions. His young and
upcoming stars aren't young anymore, they are stars, and will be unrestricted
in a few years, Arnott/Niedermayer. He has to pay these guys now. I don't
understand how Jeter can get what near 200 million, and a second rated center
on the Nets 34 Million for I think 6 years, but the Devils are the odd ball
in money. Is it because Lou, or the money situation, because they bring in a
ton more money than the Nets. Because if you lose Holik, you don't have
anyone to replace him. There isn't anybody, not on the team, not in the
minors, who can replace him, and Lou will let him get away faily easily
pisses me off. He better make it up to Holik, if he wants him to stay.
