Capitals acquire C Chris Ferraro

WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The <A HREF="aol://1722:Capitals">Washington Capitals</A> on Wednesday acquired center 
Chris Ferraro from the <A HREF="aol://1722:Devils">New Jersey Devils</A> for future considerations.  

Ferraro, 28, led the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League, New 
Jersey's top affiliate with 66 points last season.  He had 24 goals and 42 
assists.  

A fourth-round pick of the <A HREF="aol://1722:New York Rangers">New York Rangers</A> in 1992, Ferraro has played in 73 
career NHL games with the Rangers, <A HREF="aol://1722:Penguins">Pittsburgh Penguins</A>, <A HREF="aol://1722:Oilers">Edmonton Oilers</A> and <A HREF="aol://1722:Islanders">
New York Islanders</A>.  He collected seven goals, eight assists and 57 penalty 
minutes.  

The deal represents a family reunion.  The Capitals signed Ferraro's twin 
brother, Peter, to a one-year deal on August 1. Teammates on Maine's 1993 
NCAA Championship team, the Ferraros last played together for the Providence 
Bruins of the AHL in 1999-2000.
