       I'm a bit giddy at this point....cause I thought NO WAY IN HELL
was I ever gonna get to a Stanley Cup Finals game forget about all
3 of them in NJ, but I think alot of you are sick of hearing about it
so I'll just get to it :)

Pre-Game Notes:

-- while the fans in Colorado are pretty loud, over the last few seasons the
    fans in NJ have developed some of that cocky, nasty NY-type attitude
    and I personally am looking forward to giving you guys a bit of insight on
    alot of the chants, etc that will go on in this building tonight :)
-- and well they had to mention it and by the time YOU read this the game
    is LONG over....so it's ok to mention that Colorado is 0-4-2 in NJ since
    moving from Quebec, eh ??....(now all that needs to be a TRUE hex is
    the name Karen involved :p)
-- ESPN has been all over that Scott Stevens "BOO"/spitting at Adam Foote
    incident in game 2....and hey if it means the feisty agitating "Chippy, in
    your face style" (to quote Scott Stevens)....I'm all for it :)
-- now for the at game notes....see how the mood changes as the puck
    drops :p
-- did we get there for warmups ??? Well SORTA :p....let's us explain with
a REAL mission 16W if I may :)
-- 6:00 leave Uno's....go to Swamp....try to get in front by the good parking
   spots since my knee does NOT like the tunnel.....problem is security
   boy is too BLIND to see the LEG SIZED KNEE BRACE under my pants
   ....so we have my first moment of pissed-offed-mess and my first cusses
   of the evening as I wish an unholy MCL tear on the lil fuck as we go around
   the long way.....but anyway....we go ALL THE WAY around :p....and get
   there by like 6:30 or so....see them Sports Guys and the real funny pre-
   game thingy they did....well until BARRY MELROSE joins them and let
   me say he is WAY SHORTER AND FATTER in person....the camera
   LIES my friends :) and I knew we were SCREWED then when he said
   we'd win 3-1 tonight !!!
-- 6:15......20......30.....45....trying to call John....HIS name is the 
one on the
    tix at Will Call...but since we got them cause it's HIS brother that 
works the
    season tickets box can't bitch :)
-- 7:00.....he's on his way....on the GOETHALS...Mission 16 W of him getting
    in on TIME looks BAD......
-- 7:15....he's AT 16 W....nice driving :)
-- 7:30....parking morons messin with him....I wish them the ass cancer :P

-- 7:55....we're IN !!! And by 8:05 I got my water and we yell SUCKS at the 
Avs
    for introductions :)
-- let me also say....the feel and atmosphere....AWESOME....I was in awe
    coming to this hellhole for the first time in AGES....the noise is 
amazing...
    the excitement in the lot....the mini-Cups....MAN....this is LIVING....and
    hey who better to share it with you ??? :)

-- it's a shame...this crowd WAS at a fever pitch and the early start and
    the Foote penalty on the second shift of the game which leads to the
    NJ pp and this right off the bat !!!

(1 - 0 , NJ) Arnott[8-pp] (Holik, Elias) {3:16}
the point men did a VERY good job at keeping the puck in the Avs end
during this pp and when it was cleared they got it back in FAST....Elias...
to Holik in the faceoff dot....Avs caught leaning all the way to the right
side of the ice....Holik got it to Arnott at the left point and he LETS
GO a BIG one timer from the edge of the back of the faceoff dot and
not even the high holy Roy had time to get over on THAT one !!!
Shame that's all this team DOES in this game :p  I was gonna make
a nice Arnott 3:16 crack...but ahh...you'll see :p

-- funny how the roles will reverse in this game...the Devils get the pp
    goal from the guy they WANT to get it from like Sakic did...the crowd
    goes just APESHIT on the score....and the team goes DEAD :p

     that pp was not as good...the Gomez/Mogilny/Brylin line is USELESS
at this point...but at least they don't take dumb fuck penalties :p
     no goals or real good chances from it.....and the Devils seems to be
forgetting the concept of GOOD passing :p
-- then a WEIRD kinda play just begins the start of the house falling in...

Yelle....behind the net....sees no option...takes the bad angle shot
(emphasis on SHOT people :p)...Marty stops....floats OVER him...
MARTY SWATS AWAY !!!!....the hot potato never stays down and
no Devil player seems allowed to touch it :p....Podein from behind
the net.....centers...all the way back to Skoula who takes the shot
that hits Nemchinov's stick....flutters....Podein in the crease and
ends up being in Marty's way as he brought the glove across....
Interference ??? Questionable....in the net...oh hell yea :p

-- Sykora...ELIAS ALL ALONE IN FRONT AS HE BLEW PAST
    BOURQUE....Elias...looks...controls...WAITS TOO LONG as the
    puck rolled and tosses it softly RIGHT INTO ROY :p...even when it
    went RIGHT it went WRONG :p
-- while I'm actually rolling along the TiVo here.....might as well point out
    that the Pandolfo/Madden/Stevenson was AWESOME tonight and as
    the cluster fuck rolled on they did what NO ONE else did....kept WORKING
    and FIGHTING and EARNING chances and this is why they were on late
    in the game when the going was in "MUST" time....
-- and the unraveling begins with.....Brylin, N.J. (interference), 14:29;
    ...as he took a pretty stupid retaliation penalty after getting bumped 
around :p
-- the Devils did get a break with the Tanguay call (I think Daneyko kinda
    panicked and through it at the net too fast tho when they could have milked
    10-15 seconds even more by dumping it in and giving the Devils MORE pp
    time, but that's why I'm up here :p)

    penalties....the Avs didn't cash in but the big fat gun to the foot was

    loaded and sooner or later it was gonna take out a toe or two.....just not
    yet :p.....so here's the penalties :p

    CAN YOU MAKE ANY DUMBER PLAYS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN
    CALLED PENALTIES ??? Don't worry....O'Donnell's stupidity far
    outweighed it....but my GOD.....GET SOME BRAINS IDIOTS :p

Sakic wins the draw clean back to Bourque....cruises to the middle
of the ice....finds a seam....RIPS the shot through a seam that looks
like it hit a stick...regardless.....Marty never sees it till it's PAST him
as I was REALLY pissed and screaming in the old bitch's direction :P

-- Devils looking lifeless...but also give the Avs skaters a TON of credit
    they block a TON of shots...and it's probably why alot of Devils shots
    are going wide is because they can't shoot them through the Avs so
    they are opting to go AROUND them and missing the net :p
-- and this was a major "stick a fork in em goal" :P

(3 - 1) Hinote[2] (Nieminen, Drury) {6:28}
White's shot was blocked.....Drury gets the puck and brings it out
carrying to the Devils blue line...and WHAT A MOVE to bait the defense
and get the puck to Nieminen ALL ALONE on the 2 on 1....waits...looks...
HINOTE ALL ALONE IN FRONT....and ain't no goalie ANYWHERE
stopping that....poor Marty :p

       Well once again we try it AGAIN on Sat night.....can we just win ONE
so I can see the Avs win the Cup in person at LEAST ??? Yes I am bitter
and disgruntled....but it's more from the treatment at the ARENA :p
