[Devils-list] observations

I am sitting here still wiped from last night - i have watched just about
every game this season (except for those couple not broadcast) - i am not
like making a big deal out of that or anything. but didn't this team THIS
year continue to play its patient game and be able to come from behind a lot
this year to win in thirds? Am I dreaming? I know this is a very novice
observation - but this year in EVERY series if we get behind by just one
goal they start doing the ice version of the chicken dance... and two goals,
well looks to me like their souls are in the locker room getting showers and
taking a !@#$.

I understand that they play all levels of teams during the regular (means
nothing) season. I really do. but the TYPE of play they employ when down
in a game shouldn't necessarily change that radically, should it? I guess i
am just being an armchair asshole. Are they all that hurt? Are they all
that tired? Do they ALL have to start squeezing the sticks too tight at the
same goddammm time???

There are flurries of speed, there are peeks at greatness, and then here
come the chickens again. The guy behind me at the game last night said it
was coaching - do you think? I really don't. I think it might be NOT
LISTENING to the coaching.

I am not trying to be down on this team and I SO SO SO want to see them
kissing lord stanley's grail instead of watching someone else do it... -
the parts of the whole, however, don't make the WHOLE it seems. I cannot
imagine them not trying (sit mogilny) and i can understand making bonehead
moves (clear it down the ice colon, not into the stands) - it just seems
like as soon as martin gets scored on with ANY kind of goal, scrambly, soft,
unreal, whatever... goodbye organization and here comes the chicken dance.
