[Devils-list] Heartless, Gutless, and Just Plain Stupid

Mr. Scottso,

Cut Rick a break.  

The Devils routinely turn it on and off, and drive the fans crazy with
bad play too often.  This game was a gimme from Roy, and hopefully they
can now go on to win this series but you know what, Colorado isn't going
anywhere, so they had better play well or they can still blow it.

No offense, man, I know you are a super fan and all that jazz, but since
when someone doesn't have the right to bash the team for poor play? 
Please lay off the Minister of Propoganda stuff, will ya?  I submit to
you that those who get as frustrated as Rick and have to sound off out
of frustration are actually a type of fan who is most dedicated.  Just
b/c he sounds off doesn't mean he is less of a fan than you.

You have to admit that they have been flat for alot of this series. 
Many times they have been heartless and gutless.  Telling a guy to go
over to the rags because he doesn't see it through your super fan eyes
is a bit much, don't you think?  I feel like defending this guy, and I
really don't care what you or anyone thinks about me b/c its not like
many here ever respond one way or the other to my posts anyway(except
for the "we" "our" team posts that pissed alot of people off).

While I personally was not ready to write them off only b/c I have seen
how they can come back at the last minute, I wasn't very hopeful that
they would choose to do it.

Let's face it, Roy playing the puck like that was a gimme no matter how
you look at it.  I mean, the positive is that Pando and Gomez were there
to make him pay, but it was flukey.

If Roy is extra careful NOT to do that anymore and still keeps stopping
all kinds of shots, what then?  Who is gonna score?  Is Almo gonna
finally score?  Has Gomez finally gotten out of his funk?  What about
Arnott if he's not hurt badly?

Be a realist.

Mind you, I have been defending the Devils to my buddy, who is a super
hockey fan from way back (and an Isles fan from the Dynasty days), who
thinks the Avs are simply a better team and are going to win this.  I
have been taking the case that the Devils have not been playing up to
their full potential and if they were would blow the Avs away, and I
stand by that.  Will they hang in there?  I hope so, but I also realize
that it is their series, and Cup, to lose if they lapse again....

Either way, give this Rick dude a break.  He's just frustrated, and I
understand that.

Ya know Rick?  Thats how I would have pictured an e-mail titled coming
from 
you because thats exactly what it was 'Heartless Gutless and Just Plain 
Stupid.'  Thank you for giving up on them and proving my point that you
don't 
know Jack about the sport.  Do alot of Devil fans a favor and keep your
radio 
and TV off next time they play.  Or better yet hop a ride on the ferry
over 
to Manhattan and join them.
