[Devils-list] Heartless, Gutless, and Just Plain Stupid

Thanks.  I think I've been around here long enough for those long timers to
know of which I speak. Nothing frustrates me more than to watch this team
pick and choose when to play full tilt Devils hockey. I have been going to
Devils games since 1982, when Don Lever was captain and Chico Resch was
being hung out to dry regularly. Now, I am enjoying these past 10 years
where the team has been dominant for the most part, as opposed to the first
ten years where there was barely enough talent to make the playoffs.
However, I have never and will never look at the world through
Devils-colored glasses.  They get paid too much money for me to pull a Gary
Thorne or Darren Pang and suck them off every chance I get. I expect them,
ESPECIALLY in the Stanley Cup Finals, to come out and play focused,
committed hockey.  We haven't seen that for a full game yet.  It is my
belief that if they would do that for a full 60 minutes, they would win this
series, possibly going away. I believe that if they take last night's third
period and build on that, they will take Game 5, and game 6, and that will
be the end of the Ray Bourque love fest. But, if they forget that, and play
game 1 again, Game 3 again, or the first period of Game 4, this series is
over, because Colorado is too good to not play 100% against and still hope
to win. Shit like O'Donnell letting Chris Drury undress him when all he
hadda do was stand up and take the body is not playing focused hockey. The
Devils got a huge break last night.  Granted, Patrick Roy has been doing
that kind of crap for years, but I don't think you can base your whole
offense around it.  if Elias and Sykora can make that kind of stuff they did
in the 3rd happen more, maybe we'll start seeing Devils hockey... but, who
can tell which team is gonna show up? Game 1?  Game 4, 3rd period?  Game 4,
1st Period? That's the big question...
As for Scottso, you wanna keep blowing this team and believing they can do
no wrong, have at it.  Don't bother me with it, though, and be sure to wipe
your chin.
