Have you ever considered a satellite system? I am on Long Island, I HATE
Cablevision, so I opted for DirecTV. Yes, there is the initial outlay for
equipment, but once you do that, the monthly fee is the same as cable, but
you get much more programming. Right now I pay $35 a month, get about 100
channels, including FSNY and MSG. I miss out on the Metrohide games, but
hey, that's life, and that will change soon.

My cable company is in Pennsylvania and when we started to have to deal
with Metro games I mentioned that I had heard that they wanted a new channel
for the Yankees/Nets, they told me well if you think you have problems now
with us not giving you Metro just wait till Steinbrenner does his new
channel, and yes I agree it is suicidal but they obviously don't care. I can
only hope that Cablevision which is currently moving into our area will have
the channel or I will have no Devil games once their contract is over.
