[Devils-list] Just some trade ramblings...

Not that my opinion is that important... but I can't keep quiet on all the
moves happening the last two days. I won't even comment on the Peca/Yo-shit
deals other than to say "go read the Islanders rant on my page from LAST
YEAR'S DRAFT DEBACLE"...and that Milbury's just a mindless dipshit without a
clue.

Now... As for the other bigger deals... I think the Blues come away the
winners on the Turek deal... They gave up Turek and a fourth round pick for
Brathwaite (ok... no really big deal)... Sergei Varlamov, a ninth round pick
(also... nothing special)... and Daniel Tkaczuk. I feel Tkaczuk is the big
player in this deal. Maybe not now, but I think a few years from now,
looking back on this deal, it'll be clearer.

Atlanta got Lubos Bartecko from the Blues for a 2001 fourth round pick. I
think Atlanta got a decent deal. Depending on who that pick is, the deal
will probably work out well for both teams involved. Bartecko's not a bad
young player.

Boston traded Cameron Mann (RW) to the Dallas Stars for Richard Jackman (D).
IMHO, Boston got the short end of the stick on that one. I think Cameron
Mann will turn into a pretty good hockey player. He's got a good upside.

Sharks got Graves for a couple of young guys. I think that might be good for
all involved actually... Sharks get veteran leadership and a class act (I
can say that and not feel dirty because he's a Ranger--he's NOT anymore.
*S*), the Rangers lower their average team age by about 1 year.

Flames got Dean McAmmond (a former Hawk!) off the Flyers for a pick. No
comment. The guy's a former Hawk. That translates into the Hawks didn't
want him. (then again... that doesn't say much... and McAmmond's a decent
player I think)

The picking apart of the Avs has started... they sent Dingman to the
Hurricanes for a pick, and sent Pratt to the Lightning for a pick. Nothing
earthshattering.

And another deal that doesn't seem big now... but will turn into a big deal
later, IMHO, is the Canadiens/Senators deal. I think the Sens got shafted
big time. They sent Andreas Dackell (RW... I feel he's got the potential to
be a special player) to the Canadiens... for a seventh round pick. Maybe
nothing now, but I'm keeping an eye on Dackell.

Like I said... random trade ramblings... and my opinion only.
