You are correct. This just appeared on WABC's website a short time ago:

Starting this season, Major League Baseball will begin charging $9.95 a
season, to listen to Sterling and Kay call the Yankee's on the internet.
WABCradio.com will not be allowed to stream these games. You will be
required to sign up, and listen to the games over the MLB.com website,
using RealAudio. Click to the link above at game time, to listen to the
games over the internet, if you can't listen over the air on 770 AM. WABC
had nothing to do with this decision. You can e-mail MLB at
fanfeedback@website.mlb.com

I can get MSG here and there is a Yankee affiliate in Hartford that
comes in clearly but this is very disappointing to me. I enjoyed
listening to archived games and listening when I was in Europe last spring
was a real treat.

I encourage everyone to email and complain. We have to listen to the
commercials just like everyone else and now we have to pay extra for the
privledge? That does not seem right. Of course, the NBA has charged for a
while now.

I am hoping, and I am sure this will happen, there will be many hacked
username and passwds floating about online.
