Marty is our franchise player. I'll take GAA of 1.42 any-day. It is not =
pleasant to watch the puck scoot under his glove - but i am willing to =
bet he watched tapes til his eyeballs warped. he was the one who =
complained when they stopped showing the opposing team's goals - he =
wanted to see what the !@#$ he had done wrong and correct it.
We have not had the scoring frenzy in the playoffs that we saw inthe =
reg. season BECAUSE this is the playoffs. The Leafs squeaked in and =
have a semi-hot goaltender. If the Devils park some big butts in front =
of cujo and piss him off, i think we will see more scoring for the devs. =
Who the hell is he to say Gomez doesn't belong in his crease??? let =
Bobby run him once or twice and he'll be sending an engraved invite to =
Gomer to stop by.
I would like to see their first line shut down - our defense has had =
major problems doing that it seems - I remember them containing sundin =
and stumpy very well in our last meeting with this team. Time tonite =
will=20
tell..... I still feel we need big bodies in front of that rabid dog...

Amen. And for those of you who think he's looked bad all playoffs... =
what do you want? A shutout every night? Please... In the first round, =
he let in 8 goals in 6 games. If you leave out Saturday night (a game =
which they WON, by the way) he allowed 10 goals in 7 games. A GAA of =
1.42. I'll take a goal and a half or less anytime. My team, if it is a =
championship team, should be able to score at least two goals per game. =
That is more than 1.42 goals per game, which means my team will win. =
You people need to relax. Marty Brodeur has a game like he had Saturday =
night once in a blue moon. You nervous grandmothers out there need to =
relax. As someone else stated, this series is tied 1-1, and the Devils =
have yet to ply their best game. I can't wait to see what happens if =
and when they do bring their A game.

Relax. Yes, Marty looked like shit the other night. But really, =
how often
does that ever happen? This guy is pretty much a model of =
consistency who
makes his living by being in position, unlike some of the snow =
angel goalies
out there. If he had a shit night because he was out of position, =
you can
bet that he and Jacques Caron were watching tape and working on it =
the next
day. Probably (hopefully?) won't happen again. The good part is, =
he
realizes what the problem was. I'd rather hear him saying "Yeah, =
I was out
of position" than "Gee, I don't know what happened. Everything =
just seemed
to be getting by me last night."
