I found one bit of commentary quite.........intriguing by the bottled =
hair color, mullet sporting border jumper Barry "I've got no clue" =
Melrose.
The moron spews: "The Leafs knew that in order to beat the devils, Cujo =
was going to have to stand on his head. After game two: " The Leafs =
have learnt they can almost win, if Cujo doesn't stand on his head". Are =
we creating a new category in sport, under "almost won"? John Saunders =
and Mullet Boy went on with much glee to say how the Devils were done, =
et all.=20
I watched NHL2nite (to use a format that John Butcher-grass kiss us =
with), a program that is to hockey commentary what Pete Best was to the =
Beatles. Now, if this trio of braindeads ever combined IQ's it would =
still put you in the baby food section of the supermarket. Can someone =
please send Ray Ferraro some denture cream or a file cause either those =
dentures are not secure or dudes teeth are too big for his mouth. The =
only thing I get from watching this fool, is that gagging feeling =
listening to him stutter and struggle thru any commentary that goes over =
a sentence. He cant even be classified as a talking head, I think =
Sylvester the cat would be a step up cause even thou he also provides a =
bath for listeners, he is entertaining. I sit and stare at Rays mouth =
and confused facial expressions waiting for that top row of fake =
chompers to gag him midway thru every word. Sometimes he gets caught in =
a brain fart that sends his eyes rolling back like a shark.=20
I also would like to know, how is it the defending champs get thrown to =
the Deuce, yet again. I can almost buy into the theory in the first =
round that the Candy Cane - Devil matchup was not as intriguing as, say =
the other series, so we got booted and received no national love. BUT =
can someone please make a good argument for, the Defending cup champs =
playing the last myopic hope of Canada, anchored with their love child =
Cujo is not story ridden enough for prime coverage?=20
"Almost winning" will not get you into the second round, no matter how =
spectacular you look or how much everyone that loves you wants it. The =
Devils have won ugly but who cares, its a win. Would I like them to =
dominate every game? Sure I would. But note this in your scratchpad: =
This team is going for back to back championships, after a dominant =
regular season with pretty much the same cast of characters. MINUS =
Claude. They did struggle at the end of the Candy Cane series but what =
most don't advertise is that team had a great face-off win % and the PK =
from hell.=20
We all remember the Devils post season teams of the past, a bit of =
controversy or some bad breaks and they were packing up the tent. This =
group is fighting back, fighting thru crap or non existent officiating, =
fighting thru no breaks, fighting thru clutching, grabbing, =
stickholding, boarding and a legend in the net. It may not be an ass =
kicking but you know what, when the Devils get the fourth win in this =
series I think Ill scream louder than I have before because this truly =
is paying the price to go after lord Stanley for a second straight year.
