The Sporting News' first-team All-Stars were Sakic at center, Jagr at right
wing, Alexei Kovalev of Pittsburgh at left wing, Rob Blake of Colorado and
Nicklas Lidstrom of Detroit on defense, and New Jersey's Martin Brodeur at
goalie
