[Devils-list] CBC last night

Did anyone see the "town hall" live discussion forum on CBC last night?  I
was surprised at the extent of the anti-American sentiment coming from so
many Canadians in attendance.  I'd say the general consensus from those in
the audience who spoke last night was that this was something the U.S. got
itself into and this was not a Canadian issue.     Canada should stay out of
it and not get involved.  You were left with the definite impression from
those that spoke that the U.S., because of it's foreign policy, has brought
this upon itself and that Canada is a peace loving nation that should not
support American military intervention.  So many disagreed with a military
solution and felt that many innocent people would be killed by U.S. military
action and this was not acceptable.

Of course, there were those in the audience and on the panel (mostly
academics from the University of Toronto) who saw things differently.
