I was there doing a unique hockey/baseball double header with a friend of
mine. Anyway,

The A-Line was buzzing, making the Flyers look stupid the whole game (they
were far and away the best line on the ice). On the play Sykora got hurt
they had made a nice setup but the shot was stopped and the play went back
to center ice. Richardson stayed back and wacked Sykora knee-on-knee. We
had a superb vantage point in the upper deck above the corner it happened
in. It was ugly. He had to be carried off the ice and did not go under his
own power. He made some small attempts to skate but could not. Of course,
neither ref saw the play and no penalty was assesed - isn't one of the
refs supposed to look for behind the play stuff?

Other things:

Berglund SUCKS! He can't do one-timers (a few times he was set up
beautifully but by trying to settle the puck and shoot a Flyer was able to
get to him). He has NO open ice vision at all (He takes low-percentage,
bad angle shots instead of passing back to a wide open point). He is a
wussy Euro that can't stand it when the physical side of the game is given
to him but has no problem retaliating and getting stupid penalties in the
process. He didn't do anything at all redeemable until he drew a penalty
with 20 seconds left in regulation.


JF "Vinny" Damphousse looked really really good. He tends to come out too
far to cut down on angles and it nearly burned him a handful of times
(and it did on their second goal) but other than that he was our most
impressive new face. 

I am trying to think of other things, but it's late and I want to send
this before I go to bed.
