Former NHL general manager OK after plane crash

September 27, 2001

AURORA, Minn. (AP) -- A float plane carrying former
Minnesota North Stars general manager Lou Nanne
crashed into a dock Thursday while attempting to land
on Wynne Lake.

Nanne, former pro hockey player Tom Chorske, and five
others were aboard the Cessna plane, but no one was
injured, said White Township Police Chief Bud
Koskiniemi.

Koskiniemi said something went wrong during the
landing and the plane skidded across the lake until it
hit a dock. The plane stopped half on shore and half
submerged in the lake.

The group was heading to nearby Giants Ridge for a
round of golf -- which they still managed to get in.

The Federal Aviation Administration was investigating
the accident.
