BC Surfer's Musical History

I have been a musician for 18 years now. I started at age 16 by taking $25 I received for my birthday to a pawn shop and buying a cheap no name guitar. Over the next couple of years I played in several garage
( or more accurately basement ) bands. I even did some time as a bass player. I did record a single with Thin Ice as a studio musician but that band never played out. Finally, when I was 23 I hooked up with some good musicians and started playing out. By this time I was writing music and that was the main purpose of T minus 10, the band I was in. We never got around to recording any of our songs in that band but several songs from T minus 10 were carried over to my next band - Corporate America. Over the next couple of years Corporate America wrote a lot of songs, played a lot of shows and changed lead singers on a yearly basis. The songs that you can listen to on the right  ( If you have Real Audio 3.0 ) were recorded by Corporate America version 2. The line up of that version was : Yours truly, Brian Case on lead guitar and backup vocals, Marc Roulier on bass and backup vocals, Tony Tomaro on drums, Heidi Binz on lead vocals and guest keyboard player Anton Jutner.

As time went by ( and so did the singers ) Corporate America drifted more towards being a cover band, which for those of you who don't know means a normal bar band playing stuff you hear on the radio. Eventually Marc and I got tired of the rotating singers and we just started doing the singing ourselves. By this time we were completely a cover band. In early 1994 Marc was forced to move to Virginia due to his work. Tony and I continued with several new bass players and two singers for the next two years but it started to become impossible to keep things together so in early 1996, Corporate America was officially disolved. Occasionally, Marc comes up from Virginia and we all get together and jam.

After a couple of months of not playing with a band I started to get the itch again. Around this time some friends of mine were looking for a bass player so I volunteered to play bass for them. I don't think they took me seriously at first but I asked them about it a second time and they took me up on it. So in the summer of 1996, Guilty As Sin was born. In addition to playing bass, I also play guitar and sing lead on a couple of songs.

Update: Guilty As Sin Broke up in August of 97 However, I took our old demo tape and converted it to Real Audio. Here is what we sounded like...

Behind The Scenes That's about it. As you can see, I'm a jack of all trades but not getting rich from any of them. Or, as I like to say, I'm a musical slut!!!!
